MLK Soul Food needed to bring their classic dining experience into the digital age with an efficient online ordering system. We developed a custom web application using Laravel that allows customers to browse their delicious menu, customize their orders with sides and special requests, and pay securely online. The heart of the system is a powerful admin dashboard where the restaurant staff can easily update menu items, change prices, add daily specials, and manage incoming orders in real-time. By integrating the Stripe API, we ensured a reliable and secure payment process, helping MLK Soul Food increase their takeout sales and streamline their operations.

- Complex Menu Customization: Soul food menus often involve many choices for sides, preparations, and combos. The system needed to handle this complexity gracefully, allowing users to easily customize their meals without a confusing interface.
- Real-Time Order Management: The kitchen staff needed a simple and effective way to receive and manage online orders as they came in, without disrupting their workflow. The system had to provide instant notifications and a clear order queue.

- Intuitive Order Builder: We designed a dynamic, modal-based interface for order customization. When a user selects a main dish, a clean pop-up appears with all available options for sides, drinks, and add-ons. This kept the main menu clean while providing powerful customization options.
- Live-Updating Admin Dashboard: We built a "live" order dashboard for the restaurant using Laravel Livewire. New orders appear on the screen in real-time with an audible alert, allowing staff to acknowledge and process them immediately. The dashboard shows all order details, including custom requests, in a clear, easy-to-read format.
- Robust Stripe Integration: We integrated the Stripe payment gateway to handle all online transactions. This provides PCI-compliant security, supports various payment methods (credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay), and handles payment processing, refunds, and reporting, giving both the customer and the restaurant peace of mind.
